Sewing Classes (during school year): Now taking registrations for Session #5 beginning in February 2019 We have spots in the available classes: Beginner Class- Wednesdays 4-6 (1 spot available)- meets 2/6 and 2/20 Intermediate Class- we have spots available on Sundays, Mondays or Wednesdays. Message us for more info. ********************* One Day Workshops- Child Beginner- 2/15~ 10am-1pm Child Make Your Own Leggings- 2/18~ 10am-12:30pm **************** Our regular sewing classes during the year meet twice a month, for two hour classes. They start in late September and go until end of May. You don't have to start in September, you can sign up at anytime throughout the year, one session at a time. We usually hold classes Sunday through Thursday. Sunday classes are either 11am-1pm or 1-3pm and weekday classes are 4-6pm. We also have one day workshops during school breaks- teacher's conventions, spring break, etc.
Beginner Classes: Students will learn about their machines and how to sew basic stitches. They will also learn to hand stitch and sew buttons. They will complete one project by the end of a session.
Intermediate I Classes: Must complete beginner classes or show proper knowledge of sewing before starting this class. We will go into more detail with their machines, fabrics and techniques. On average, they should complete two projects by end of session. Students pick from list of projects on Intermediate I list.
Intermediate II Classes: Must complete Intermediate I classes. Introduce clothing and patterns along with flannels, comfy fabric and minky.
Advance Classes: Those who did at least 6 months of sewing classes last year will be working on advanced projects including clothing with knit, stretchy fabrics.
Supplies: Are provided by us. Most children eventually like to have their own sewing kits- they will learn which supplies to buy in class.
Machine: I do have enough machines for each student but if you would like to bring a machine you current own that is preferred. Just make sure to bring power cord and sewing foot. If buying a machine, stay away from SInger machines. They are not the good, quality machines they used to be. I recommend buying Brother or Janome. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Adult Sewing Workshops
